The Artist

Marco Tamburro

Marco Tamburro, (Perugia, 1974) lives and works in Rome. After obtaining a diploma in Architecture and Furniture at the Art Institute of Perugia, in 1994 he moved to Milan, where he attended the course of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. Here he began a collaboration with photographers and set designers and developed an interest in the theater environment. In 1999 he completed his training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In the capital he began to interact with numerous theater companies and participated in group and solo exhibitions. In these years, his production gradually moves away from the use of photographic iritagli to focus on the practice of painting, chosen as the main medium to explore themes such as everyday life, loss of values, existence, and the human being. In 2019 he founded Factory Studio 8 in Rome, promoting exhibitions and exchanges with international artists. Marco Tamburro's work has been recognized and presented in numerous public and private spaces that include: Museo Civico di Palazzo della Penna, Perugia; Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence; MACRO Testaccio - La Pelanda, Rome; Black Square Gallery, Miami; Ermi-tage Museum, St. Petersburg; Castel dell'Ovo, Naples; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebau-dengo, Turin; Padiglione Lazio, LIV Biennale di Venezia, Venice; Galerie an der Pinakothek der Morderne / Barbara Ruetz, Munich. Lastly, Marco Tamburro, before exhibiting with us in Torre GalFa, had a great success with the public at his last solo exhibition at MAXXI in Rome, which hosted him with satisfaction and clamor.
